e ) <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Hea Department State 18-Month Inspection Report <br /> Foothill Sanitary Landfill <br /> SWIS#39-AA-0004 <br /> COMMENTS: <br /> The site overall was in good condition. The active face was observed first thing in the morning. Soil is <br /> currently being used for alternative daily cover at the active face. No household hazardous waste was <br /> observed at the active face. A spotter was available to direct the incoming trucks coming to the active <br /> face of Foothill Sanitary Landfill. <br /> During the inspection, gas monitoring wells, SG-12 and SG-4, were monitored for methane gas and <br /> were under the LEL for methane. The gas extraction flare was burning at the time of the inspection. <br /> The flare and power lines are approximately 23 feet away from each other. The flare is being rerouted <br /> for better protection. <br /> The disposal site records and the landfill unit records were checked,at the Department of Public Works <br /> office in Stockton showed them to be maintained and up to date. The permitted traffic volume is 200 <br /> vehicles per day. The peak day was on May 27, 2006 at 145 vehicles for the day. The gas monitoring <br /> records indicated that the gas readings were all below the 5%maximum level of methane. Safety <br /> training is provided for the current employees. Load check is done 20-50 times a day at the landfill. <br /> Financial Assurances documents were available. <br /> Page 3 of 3 Inspector <br />
