The North County Recycling Center (NCRC) will be closed to the general public
during October 7 — October 21, 2007, due to repairs to the tipping floor. As a
result, the customers who use the NCRC will be directed to dump at the landfill
area during that period. This document outlines the plan which will be
implemented at the facility to accommodate that change in operations.
I NO
The general public will be directed to dump their waste at the all weather apron
on the northeast corner of module # 4 (Figure 1). The commercial traffic such as
refuse collection trucks, transfer trucks, ten wheel dumps, and end dumps, will be
directed to another location and will not dump in the area where the general
public will be dumping (Figure 1).
The landfill site is secured by a barbed wire perimeter fence and a main
entrance/exit gate. Access is limited to the main gate, which is located on the
north side of the facility. The Employee Maintenance Building, Recycling Center,
Scale House, and Fire Pump House are all equipped with alarm systems
including burglar and fire alarms. If an alarm is tripped, Alamo Alarm, the alarm
company, receives the notification.
Page 2 9/28/2007
M:\Jaime\NCRCSL OPS PLAN 100707 TO 102107.doc
