n <br />RUMORKNIRRIM <br />The Solid Waste Division will obtain drilling permits from San Joaquin County <br />Environmental Health Department (EHD). The Solid Waste Division will notify <br />EHD Unit 6 at least two working days in advance of drilling for an inspection. <br />Drilling and completion of the wells will be done by a licensed contractor. The <br />contractor will be responsible to comply with the work plan and construct the <br />wells per the construction drawings and specifications. <br />The location of the new wells is away from refuse limit; thus, drilling of the new <br />wells will not include excavation of refuse or contact with refuse. <br />Drilling muds or liquids will not be used during drilling. All drilling equipments are <br />expected to be clean. The contractor will be required to clean all unclean <br />equipments off-site. <br />Any open excavations deeper than three feet will be covered with a one -inch <br />thick piece of plywood at the end of the working day. The edges of the plywood <br />will be sealed around with soil to prevent landfill gas from escaping into the <br />atmosphere. The plywood covered area will also be flagged with warning tape <br />A boring log will be compiled during the drilling of the wells. <br />r • • <br />The new soil gas monitoring wells will be constructed per the construction <br />drawings and specifications. Comments received from EHD will be incorporated <br />into the construction of the new wells. <br />It is anticipated that the new wells will be constructed immediately after drilling. <br />Unless otherwise directed, competition of the new wells will be done in the <br />presence of EHD Unit 6 staff. <br />The existing soil gas monitoring well SG -8 will be destroyed during the <br />construction of the next module.
