COMPLAINANT ALLEGES THAT WHEN THEY OPENED THEIR <br />DRINK, THEY NOTICED A HUGE ROACH FLOATING IN THEIR DRINK. COMPLAINANT TOOK IT BACK TO THE <br />FACILITY AND THE EMPLOYEE TOOK IT AND THREW IT AWAY AND SAID THAT BECAUSE IT IS AN OLD BUILDING <br />THERE ARE ROACHES. <br />VIOLATIONS AND CORRECTIVE ACTIONS <br />Items listed on this report as violations do not meet the requirements set forth in the California Health and Safety Code commencing with section 7; <br />113700. All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and have the potential to cause foodbome illness. All major violations must be corrected immediately. Non-compliance may warrant immediate closure of <br />the food facility. <br />#23 Rodents, Insects or Animals Inside Facility <br />OBSERVATIONS: Two live adult and on baby cockroach were observed near the soda syrup boxes and on the floor below <br />the prep sink along the adjacent wall. Call pest control company immediately to increase service. Reinspection will be <br />conducted in 2-3 weeks. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Each food facility shall be kept free of vermin: rodents (rats, mice), cockroaches, flies.( 114259.1, 114259.4, <br />114259.5) <br />OVERALL INSPECTION NOTES AND COMMENTS <br />FOOD ITEM -- LOCATION -- TEMP ° F --COMMENTS <br />No Temperature Data Collected <br />NOTES <br />Spoke with manager who was aware of the complaint. Manager showed a receipt for pest control service on October 4. She <br />said they service the facility once per month. Upon inspection 2 live adult and 1 baby cockroach were observed around the <br />soda syrup boxes and the prep sink area near along the adjacent wall. Some dead cockroaches were observed on a sticky <br />trap. The manager was instructed to increase pest control immediately to get this problem under control. The manager said <br />that the pest control company would be contacted today and increase service to once per week for 3 weeks. A Re inspection <br />will be required by the Health Department in 2-3 weeks. <br />The person in charge is responsible for ensuring that the above mentioned facility is in compliance with all applicable sections of the California Health and <br />Safety Code.
