These
three test borings were drilled by our firm as a part of the
supplementary soils studies. described in our confirming
proposal to Mr. Lew Schmid of June 19, 1973. The primary
concern at this time is design data for the two pumping
facilities .
Boring 5 was drilled at the approximate location of
the proposed retention basin and pumping facility adjacent
to Lots 113 and 114 of Unit 1 of this development . Test
Borings 8 and 10 are the closest of the new borings to the
proposed retention basin and pumping facility in the south-
west portion of the property, just south of the East Bay
Municipal Utility District easement .
Logs of the test borings are presented on Plates ,
attached. The approximate location at which these borings
were drilled is shown on the attached Plot Plan, Plate I.
In Boring 5 , we encountered what appears to be a
perched groundwater condition at an approximate depth of
14 feet below the presently existing ground surface. This
water appears to be an accumulation of surface or irrigation
water which has accumulated in the sandy soils below a depth
of approximately 15 feet.
