Reference to these Specifications is solely for the purpose of specifying quality of materials and methods of construction as set forth herein. 5. REMOVAL OF OBSTRUCTIONS The Contractor shall remove, or cause to be removed, at his expense, all trees, fences, and all structures and underground pipes or substances as and when required by the Plans, or where the proper construction and completion of the work require their removal . The Contractor shall also remove, at his expense, all rock, stones, debris, and all obstructions of whatsoever kind or character, whether natural or artificial, encounter- ed in the construction of the work. No trees, palms, shrubbery, or orna- mental vegetation shall be removed without the consent of the Engineer first obtained. Where indication on the Plans or directed by the Engineer, the Contractor shall replace trees, fences, and other structures to their original condition. Material that is removed as hereinabove specified, and is not to be incor- porated in the improvement being constructed, shall be disposed of by the Contractor and at his expense; and in connection therewith, attention is further directed to the provisions set forth under the County of San Joaquin Specifications. 6. ACCEPTANCE All work done under this Contract must be done according to the Plans and Specifications and be accepted by the Engineer and the County of San Joaquin.
