SECTION B - CURB AND GUTTER <br /> 1 . CONSTRUCTION <br /> Shall conform to the County of San Joaquin Standard Specifications for <br /> Standard No. B-1 Curb and Gutter Improvement. <br /> 2. MATERIALS <br /> a) Forms: The forms may be either wood or metal . Shall be equal in <br /> depth to the full depth of the concrete to be poured adjacent to the <br /> forms. <br /> b) Expansion Joint Material: Shall consist of made-up felt walls with <br /> an asphaltic filler, conforming to Section 51-1 . 12 of California <br /> Standard Specifications and shall not be less than 3/8" thick. <br /> The joint material shall be of sufficient depth and width to extend <br /> entirely through the concrete work involved. <br /> c) Concrete: Shall be Class B, Portland Cement Concrete made with <br /> 1q" maximum aggregate grading, all proportional mixed, in accord- <br /> ance with Section 90, California Standard Specifications. Only <br /> _—enough water shall be added to produce a workable plastic mix and <br /> in no case shall the slump exceed three (3) inches when measured <br /> by the Standard ASTM method. Lamp Black shall be added to the <br /> concrete to produce a uniform gray color. <br /> d) Dowel Bars: Shall consist of 5/8" x 24" smooth steel bars manu- <br /> factured in accordance with ASTM serial designation A-14-39, <br /> billet steel bars for concrete reinforcement, hard grade. <br /> e) Cushion Material: Cushion material shall conform to the require- <br /> ments of ASTM serial designation D 1241-55T for Type 11 C Grade <br /> E Material . <br /> f) Lamp Black: Shall conform in all respects to the latest revision of <br /> ASTM serial designation D 209-47. <br /> g) Wrapping Paper: Shall be basic 25 Ib. waxed clear paper equal <br /> in quality to "Kleenwrap" as manufactured by Zellerback Paper Co. <br /> h) Grease: Grease for wrapping dowl bars shall be 2A chassis lub- <br /> ricant as used in the a_utomotiv5 igdusf i <br /> 3.
