GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS PROPELLER OR MIXED FLOW TYPE PUMP ( OIL LUBRICATED ) GENERAL These specifications are intended to cover the furnishing of a complete motor-driven, (mixed flow) type pump for the following conditions: GENERAL DESIGN REQUIREMENTS The pumps shall be of the vertical submerged mixed flow type, and constructed so as to be suspended from the motor base. The pumping element is to be suspended below the necessary length of discharge column and elbow. The pump assembly shall be so constructed that dismantling and repairing may be accomplished without removing driver or elbow. The complete unit shall operate free of excessive vibration and noise and shal l operate over the specified range without cavitating. DETAILED DESIGN REQUIREMENTS The suction bowl shall be a bell shape to reduce entrance losses. All bowls must be so designated that they will withstand not less than twice the maximum operating pressure of the pump, when operating at the specified speed. In no case shall the wall thickness of the bowls be less than that of the column. The impeller shall be SAE 40 bronze. The impeller shaft shall be type 416 SS, turned, ground and polished precision shafting.
