SANITARY SEWER TREATMENT SPECS. - (Con't) <br /> SKIMMING RETURN SYSTEM <br /> There shall be two airlift skimming devices of the positive airlift pump type <br /> located in the settling tank to skim and return floating material to the aeration <br /> tank. Air line supplying air to the skimming device shall be equipped with <br /> a needle valve to regulate the rate of return. <br /> AERATED SLUDGE STORAGE CHAMBER <br /> A sludge storage tank shall be provided as shown on plans. It shall be an <br /> integral part of the plant with a capacity of 6750 gallons. <br /> GASEOUS CHLORINATOR <br /> To provide for the chlorination of the sewage treatment plant effluent, Model <br /> CH-35 gaseous chlorination unit as manufactured by Clow Waste Treatment, <br /> Division of Florence, Kentucky or approved equivalent. The chlorinator <br /> shall be readily adjusted for controlled feeding of gas at rates between zero <br /> and fifteen pounds of chlorine per day. The unit shall include a weather <br /> proof housing. The housing shall be mounted on chlorine contact tank as <br /> shown on plans. <br /> METAL GRATING <br /> Morton galvanized open grid safety grating panels shall be provided for all <br /> openings on sewage treatment plant and chlorine contact tank, The grating <br /> panels shall be 18" maximum in width and constructed of 14 gauge galvanized <br /> sheet metal. Provide hand railing of 1q" galvanized pipe 36" high with supports <br /> spaced not more than 8'-011, per California Safety Code. Provide fuscote epoxy <br /> steel ladder with 1" diameter steps spaced at 12" O.C. (3/4" galv. steel <br /> A.S.T.M. A-123) from grade to metal grating deck for sewage treatment plant <br /> and chlorine contact tank. <br /> BLOWER AND MOTOR DRIVE <br /> There shall be two blower motor units. The blower shall have a 24 hour time <br /> clock to vary the air supply in 15 minute intervals and shall deliver 425 <br /> C.F.M. at 5 P.S.I .
