SECTION J - SANITARY SEWER TREATMENT PLANT <br /> EQUIPMENT SPECIFICATIONS <br /> Package type extruded aeration sewage treatment plant with electrical <br /> controls. The plant shall be Aer-O-Flo Model S-850-710-15 as manufactur- <br /> ed by the Clow Waste Treatment Division, Florence, Kentucky or approved <br /> equivalent, capable of treating 85000 G.P.D. domestic sewage of 240 parts <br /> per million 5-day B.O.D. The plant will be equipped with: <br /> AERATION CHAMBER <br /> Shall' be of sufficient capacity to provide a minimum 24 hour period of retention, <br /> the aeration chamber shall be constructed with air diffusers placed longitudin- <br /> ally along one side of the chamber so as to, in conjunction with the flow control <br /> baffles, enhance the spiral rotation of chamber contents. The proportion of <br /> chamber width to depth, in direction of rotation, shal I not exceed 1 .33 to 1 <br /> and shall be in such proportion that the velocity of rotation so promoted shall <br /> be sufficient to scour the chamber's bottom and prevent sludge filleting. <br /> Bar screens with ;" bars spaced one inch apart shall be installed at the <br /> influent port. Aero-Flo Comminutor Model A5 as manufactured by Clow <br /> Corporation of Florence, Kentucky or approved equivalent. The comminu- <br /> tor gear motor shall be of 1/3 HP, and shall be mounted directly on sewage <br /> girder. <br /> AIR DIFFUSION <br /> Diffuser air shall be supplied by two positive displacement blowers each of <br /> ample size based on B.O.D. application to provide a minimum of 2, 100 cubic <br /> feet of air per pound of B.O.D. applied. <br /> CLARIFIER CHAMBER <br /> The clarifier chamber shall be of ample size to provide a minimum of 4 hours <br /> retention. Based upon 85000 G.P.D. the bottom of the chamber shall be formed <br /> into inverted pyramidal hoppers with flat bottom area being not greater than <br /> one square foot.
