The site is located in Seismic
Zone 3' and all structures should be designed accordingly. The closest active Class B
fault is the Greenville fault zone along parts of the western San Joaquin Valley located a
distance of 54 kilometers. The UBC currently considers non -blind thrust faults for
seismic design parameters. The closest Class A fault is the Rodgers Creels fault located
at a distance of 81 kilometerS2.
The California Geological Survey assigns a probabilistic (10% probability of exceeding
that motion in a 50 year period) peak horizontal ground acceleration for surface soil at
the subject site of 0.236g based on longitude and latitude coordinate53. A liquefaction
evaluation was performed for this site and is discussed In a subsequent section of this
report.
Following is a table of the 2001 California Building Code Soil Parameters2 which may be
used for design of structures at the subject site:
The general topography of the site and surrounding area is relatively flat. The site
consisted of an open agricultural field. The area of the pump station is an unused
portion of the field, on the north side of the pump station site there is an existing
telecommunications monopole tower with an equipment building. The site Is bordered
by agricultural fields and orchards on the north, west, and south sides, and by North
Cameron Road on the east.
