The formatting of this report has been designed to follow, to the <br />greatest degree possible, San Joaquin County, Environmental Health Department (EHD) Soil <br />Suitability Study Requirements Checklist, dated September 25, 2007 and Nitrate Loading Study <br />Requirements Checklist, dated July 14, 2003. <br />1.0 SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY <br />1.1 Introduction and Development <br />The Soil Suitability Study (SSS) was conducted to determine whether site soils are suitable for <br />septic system usage. The study was performed according to the requirements of Section 9- <br />110.05.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code. A major element of the field work <br />included conducting percolation tests that meet absorption rates as specified by EHD. A review <br />of published soil information, geologic maps, and groundwater information was also performed. <br />1.1.1 Site Description <br />The site consists of an approximately 2.92 -acre tract of land located at 3055 East Forest Lake <br />Road, Acampo, California, San Joaquin County, California, Assessor Parcel Number (APN) 005- <br />370-02. Based on interviews with Mr. Gale, Ms. Sue Lease (owner) and information available <br />online, the site is currently developed with a 2, 068± square foot (SF) three bedroom residence <br />with an office, 590± SF storage building, and 2,060± SF shop building. <br />According to the San Joaquin County District Viewer the site is zoned R -R (Rural Residential). <br />Based on a review of the San Joaquin County Community Development Department website, the <br />R -R zoning designation is intended to " provide for large lot rural homesites within or adjacent to <br />existing rural communities." <br />According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Lodi North (1976) California <br />Quadrangle, the elevation of the site is between sea level and approximately 55 feet above mean <br />sea level with a topographic gradient generally sloping towards the west. <br />Responsive ■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 3 <br />
