WEVERN PUMP <br /> Petroleum & Lubrication Equipment Specialists <br /> Section 1 <br /> Injury and Illness Prevention Program <br /> Policy <br /> It is the policy of Western Pump, Inc. , to provide a safe and healthy work environment for all <br /> employees and to abide by all federal , state , and local regulations as they pertain to our operations. <br /> We have and will continue to maintain a safety and health program designed to train our employees <br /> to follow safe practices, and to recognize and correct unsafe working conditions . <br /> Safety is part of each employee's job . Active participation and adherence to the Safety Program is a <br /> condition of each employee's employment. No employee is required to work at a job that he or she <br /> knows is unsafe . Therefore , we must work to make every workplace safe by detecting and <br /> correcting unsafe working conditions , as well as the detection of unsafe work practices. <br /> Our Safety Policy has equal importance with the company's policies of providing the best quality and <br /> most productive service in our industry. It is our goal is to completely eliminate accidents and <br /> injuries . Because of the many different hazards of our industry, we must maintain a constant safety <br /> awareness to achieve this goal . The individual with responsibility and authority to implement this <br /> program is Derek Rethmeier, <br /> Responsibilities <br /> Management <br /> The management team of the Company must demonstrate a positive attitude toward the <br /> achievement of a strong Injury & Illness Prevention Program , with the objective of reducing personal <br /> injury and property damage. To create a strong Injury & Illness Prevention Program , management <br /> will : <br /> • Effect an attitude that safety is important <br /> • Create a safe work environment for all employees <br /> • Make the necessary appropriations to meet the requirements of an effective Injury & Illness <br /> Prevention Program <br /> • Include the discussion of safety issues at staff meetings and other appropriate occasions <br /> • Carry out and enforce the Injury & Illness Prevention Program <br /> Direct special safety activities , such as award programs <br /> • Assure development of policies and programs to meet the legal requirements of the Federal <br /> Occupational Safety and Health Act and applicable state/local regulations <br /> Use personal protective equipment where necessary, obey all applicable safety rules, and <br /> demand the same of all members of management <br /> • Delegate responsibility for safety to front-line supervisory personnel and annuallyreview <br /> their progress in this area <br /> • Authorize Superintendents , Project Managers , and SMART Safety Group to stop work <br /> that would place employees , equipment or property in imminent danger, and ensure that all <br /> unsafe conditions are corrected <br /> • Attend the Safety Business Meeting <br /> 3235 " 1'" Street, San Diego, CA 92102-3315 619-239-9988 Fax 619-239-9925 <br /> www. wasternou�. com <br /> California Contractor's License #673853 <br />
