WESTERN PUMP <br /> Petroleum & Lubrication Equipment Specialists <br /> • Oversee the actions of SMART Safety Group , who implements the Safety and Health Plan , <br /> SMART Safety Group <br /> SMART Safety Group is responsible for the development and implementation of athorough , <br /> practical , and effective Injury & Illness Prevention Program . <br /> • Effect an attitude that safety is important <br /> • Manage the administration of the Injury & Illness Prevention Program , and coordinate all <br /> safety activities as a representative of management <br /> • Monitor the performance of the safety program to be aware of trends , potential problems, <br /> predominant loss types and overall progress of the program . Assist management with <br /> solving persistent accident problems and other non-routine safety difficulties <br /> • Direct the investigation of all accidents, and if necessary, visit the scene of the accidentto <br /> assure that measures are undertaken to prevent their reoccurrence <br /> • Be familiar with applicable safety codes and construction industry safety standards <br /> • Keep abreast of current information regarding regulations <br /> • Conduct periodic safety inspections of project jobsites for recognition and correction of <br /> safety hazards <br /> Conduct periodic inspections when new substances , processes, procedures or equipmentare <br /> introduced to the workplace that present a new occupational safety and health hazard <br /> • Prepare necessary accident records. Assure prompt filing of required reports with the <br /> insurance carrier, state and/or local authorities <br /> • Process injury reports , medical bills, and record keeping according to OSHA and state <br /> requirements <br /> • Establish and maintain a record keeping system that meets all regulatory requirements <br /> • Maintain central records for safety-related issues (i .e. Weekly Safety Meetings , disciplinary <br /> action , personnel training , etc.) <br /> • Monitor medical reports and progress with employee and workers' compensation carrier, and <br /> make recommendations on an early return to work program or appropriate alternative actions <br /> t Assure prompt filing of required reports with the insurance carrier, state or local authorities <br /> • Review and advise personnel on new equipment, procedures, or operations as they relate tothe <br /> prevention and control of accidents <br /> • Develop and coordinate employee safety training programs <br /> • Maintain injury and illness statistics <br /> • Consult with safety representatives of insurance companies to coordinate their serviceswith the <br /> Injury & Illness Prevention Program <br /> Undertake prompt corrective action on any safety recommendation .
