WESTERN PUMP <br /> Petroleum & Lubrication Equipment Specialists <br /> Project Manager <br /> The success of the Injury & Illness Prevention Program is in direct proportion to theemphasis placed <br /> upon it by the Project Manager. They have the following responsibilities : <br /> • Effect an attitude that safety is important <br /> • Carry out and enforce the Injury & Illness Prevention Program <br /> • Review Employee Disciplinary Warnings with the supervisor and employees undertheir <br /> authority. Comply with federal , state and local safety regulations <br /> • Give due consideration to safety factors during pre-job planning , involving SMARTSafety <br /> Group with any unique or unusual safety problems (See Project Pre-Plan informs) <br /> • Assure that the company employees receive a proper new hire orientation <br /> • Communicating the importance of safety to all new hires at the New Hire Orientation. <br /> Superintendents <br /> The success of the Injury & Illness Prevention Program is related to the emphasis placed upon it by <br /> the Superintendent. They have the following responsibilities : <br /> • Effect an attitude that safety is important <br /> • Keep informed about safety and health regulations affecting the operations they supervise <br /> • Make sure that each employee is able to -- and understands how to -- complete each task to <br /> which they are assigned in a safe manner <br /> • Make sure that machines and equipment are maintained in safe operating condition <br /> • Make sure that employees follow all safety and health regulations and workpractices , <br /> including using required personal protective equipment <br /> • Carry out and enforce the Injury & Illness Prevention Program <br /> Review Employee Disciplinary Warnings with the employees under their authority and their <br /> superintendent <br /> • In the event of an accident, provide immediate care for the injured employee and notify <br /> SMART Safety Group immediately <br /> • Investigate all accidents and correct the cause of the accident immediately <br /> • Report without delay, any unsafe or unhealthful conditions which they cannot correct <br /> • Inspect the jobsite for unsafe conditions and behaviors on a daily basis <br /> • Document the jobsite for unsafe conditions and behaviors on a weekly basis <br /> • Assist in the preparation of necessary accident reports <br /> • Control the working hours of the site and ensure that adequate supervision is onsite atall <br /> times. <br /> • Consult with SMART Safety Group during jobsite surveys to review and evaluate any <br /> problems or recommendations <br /> • Undertake prompt corrective action on any safety recommendation .
