WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS <br />SADDLE CITY COUNTY SERVICE AREA NO. 31 <br />AND GIBRALTAR COMMUNITY BUILDERS <br />WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY <br />SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br />-4- <br />3. The arithmetic mean biochemical oxygen demand (5 -day) and suspended solids <br />in effluent samples collected in a period of 30 consecutive days shall not <br />exceed 15 percent of the arithmetic mean of the values for influent <br />samples collected at approximately the same times during the same period <br />(85 percent removal). <br />4. The discharge shall not have a pH less than 6.5 nor greater than 8.5. <br />5. The monthly average daily dry weather discharge flow shall not exceed 0.15 <br />million gallons. <br />6. The Discharger shall use the best practicable cost-effective control <br />technique currently available to limit mineralization to no more than a <br />reasonable increment. <br />7. Survival of test fishes in 96 -hour bioassays of undiluted waste shall be <br />no less than: <br />Minimum for any one bioassay - - - - - - - - - 70% <br />Median for any three or more bioassays - - - - 90% <br />8. By-pass or overflow of untreated or partially treated waste is prohibited. <br />B. Discharge of treated domestic wastewater to land: <br />1. The discharge shall not cause degradation of any water supply. <br />2. Discharge of reclaimed wastewater to surface waters or surface water <br />drainage courses is prohibited. <br />3. The discharge shall remain in the designated disposal area at all times. <br />4. The discharge to irrigation areas of domestic wastewater in excess of the <br />following limits are prohibited: <br />Constituent Units Monthly Average Daily Maximum <br />BOD5* mg/l 40.0 80.0 <br />Settleable Matter mg/l 0.2 0.5 <br />*5 -Day, 20° Biochemical Oxygen Demand <br />C. Sludge Disposal: <br />1. Collected screening, sludges, and other solids removed from liquid wastes <br />shall be disposed of in a manner approved by the Executive Officer. <br />
