If you are UNABLE to deal with the release, adhere to the following steps. <br /> Incident Notification <br /> I. Immediately upon discovery of an emergency incident related to the release of an infectious agent,notify Village West <br /> Marina Management, <br /> 2. Evacuate the area. <br /> 3. Dial 911. <br /> Site Control <br /> 1. The site shall be controlled and maintained by Village West Marina Management until the Fire Department arrives on scene. <br /> 2. No one will be allowed to enter the area unless authorized. <br /> If you are ABLE to clean up the spill without assistance, adhere to the following <br /> steps. <br /> If the chemical spilled is a liquid,respond as follows: <br /> 1, Identify the chemical spilled to determine if you are capable of cleaning up the spill safely; <br /> 2. Refer to the container label and/or Material Safety Data Sheet(MSDS); <br /> 3. Don the appropriate personal protective equipment before cleaning up the spill; <br /> 4. Choose the proper neutralizing agent for the spill from the nearest Spill Control Station,if one is present; <br /> 5. Apply neutralizer or absorbent material as follows: <br /> o Encircle the chemical spill with neutralizing or absorbing material; <br /> o Once spill has been encircled,apply neutralizing or absorbing material to center of spill; <br /> o If it is a caustic or acid spill,read neutralizing container to determine the correct contact time for material to be neutralized; <br /> o Once spill has been neutralized,vermiculite or general absorbent can be added to absorb remaining spilled material;and <br /> o Sweep/shovel up spilled material and ensure the area is completely neutralized by using pH paper(for caustic and acid spills <br /> only)located within the Spill Control Station. <br /> 6. Dispose of all materials(e.g.,gloves,brooms,paper towels)used to clean up the spill inside a sealed,leak proof bag or <br /> container(e.g.,zip lock bag,taped plastic bag); <br /> 7. Label and dispose of all bags or containers as hazardous waste; <br /> 8. Ensure spill control stations are replenished;and <br /> 9. Contact outside vendor for a hazardous waste collection. <br /> If chemical spilled is a powder,respond as follows: <br /> 1. Identify the chemical spilled to determine if you are capable of cleaning up the spill safely; <br /> 2. Refer to the container label and/or Material Safety Data Sheet(MSDS); <br /> 3. Don the appropriate personal protective equipment before cleaning up the spill; <br /> -.� 4. Sweep up spilled material carefully to prevent generation of dust; <br /> 5.
