o Position a walk-off mat(e.g.,Tacky-Mate)where clean-up personnel will exit the access controlled area; <br /> o Place barriers(e,g,,plastic sheeting)that will minimize air currents across the surface affected by the spill; <br /> o Use wet-wiping methods to clean the spill when not reactive with water; <br /> o Alternatively,use a certified HEPA vacuum or other facility-approved method that does not involve dry sweeping or the use <br /> of compressed air. <br /> 6. Place in a sealed container(e.g.,zip lock gab,taped plastic bag)and label container with its contents; <br /> 7. Dispose of all materials(e.g.,gloves,brooms,paper towels)used to clean up the spill inside a sealed,leak proof bag or <br /> container(e.g.,zip lock bag,taped plastic bag); <br /> 8. Label and dispose of all bags or containers as hazardous waste; <br /> 9. Ensure spill control stations are replenished;and <br /> 10. Contact outside vendor for a hazardous waste. <br /> Decontamination <br /> All clothing,equipment or person(s)shall be decontaminated to remove the presence of any hazardous materials encountered. <br /> The decontamination area shall be set-up prior to the mitigation of the incident. <br /> Decontamination can be accomplished by: <br /> • Physically removing contaminants(e.g.,liquid rinse,evaporation); <br /> • Inactivating contaminants by chemical detoxification(e.g.,neutralizing agents);and <br /> • Disinfecting/sterilizing infectious or biological materials(e.g.,bleach solution). <br /> Personal Protective Equipment <br /> Emergency response personnel shall use appropriate personal protective equipment for each assigned job. <br /> The following personal protective equipment shall be available for use depending on the requirements of the situation and the <br /> training of the individual response personnel: <br /> • Chemical resistant gloves and boots; <br /> • Air purifying half-mask or full-face respirator with appropriate cartridges; <br /> • Chemical resistant total body coverall Tyvek suits; <br /> • Chemical resistant goggles;and <br /> • Personal Alerting Safety System(PASS)device. <br /> Proprietary to MYMIC,LLC in association with Village Marina©2016 <br />
