The following <br /> containers were observed in the self-haul dumping area: <br /> -one approximately 7 gallon metal container of shells/ammunition did not have a hazardous waste label <br /> -one lined cardboard box of latex paint was missing an accumulation date and hazardous properties <br /> -five lined cardboard boxes of latex paint were missing hazardous properties <br /> -one black 55 gallon metal drum labeled "used floor sweep"was missing hazardous properties <br /> -one black 55 gallon metal drum of antifreeze was missing hazardous properties <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: the <br /> words"Hazardous Waste", name and address of generator, hazardous properties, physical state, composition <br /> (contents), accumulation start date <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately label the containers as required for hazardous waste. Provide a corrective <br /> action statement and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (EHD)within 30 days. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> 704 CCR 66273.33(b) Universal Waste Handler failed to properly manage universal waste lamps. <br /> OBSERVATION: The facility is managing universal waste(UW)lamps in a way that does not prevent a release of <br /> waste to the environment. The UW lamps in the self-haul dumping area are being stored in an open cardboard <br /> container. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: Title 22 California Code of Regulations section 66273.33 Universal Waste Management <br /> Requirements for Batteries, Lamps, and Mercury-Containing Equipment <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately place all UW lamps into closed, structurally sound containers with labeling: <br /> "universal waste-lamps".
