Von Sosten Rd.
Tracy, California 95376
February 26, 1982
Mr. Dave Olmstead
Broker - Developer
P. 0. Box 134
Tracy, CA 95376
RE: S-82-3, PUD 82-1 - LOS RANCHOS ESTATES
Dear Mr. Olmstead:
I appreciate your concerns with regards to our citizen's envi-
ronmental action committee and the schedule of meetings for this
committee, however, I would remind you that this committee was organ-
ized as a vehicle to resolve the environmental issues which concern
local residents, at your insistance. If you truly desire to develop
measures to mitigate these issues to the satisfaction of those con-
cerned you should be gathering available information as you proposed
at the meeting of February 9, 1982. These issues can only be properly
addressed by evaluation of all pertinent information. In the interim
I would suggest that you also begin the process to form a County Service
Area for storm drainage ( as recommended by the San Joaquin County
Development Committee ) and modify your engineered drawings to illus-
trate the location of community well sites and community drainage
pond(s) that you have proposed. If you wish to expedite approval of
the Los Ranchos Estates project your assistance to the committee
would be helpful.
A committee of individuals was selected on February 23, 1982, to
represent local residents and a third meeting was arranged ( also in
February ) to elect a chairman and officers, to gather new information,
to propose a plan of action, and to coordinate our participation with
the developers. The committee will contact you early in March to
arrange a meeting to discuss ways of resolving the environmental issues
inherent to your proposed project.
