17 November 2021 AdvancedGeo
Project No. 02-0926 An Employee-Owned Company
Page 2 of 2
suspected that during well destruction drilling at MW-10, the hollow stem augers may
have slightly veered from the boring trace, towards the overpass to the west.
On 17 November 2021, AGI received construction and repair plans for the overpass from
the City of Stockton.
AGI has reviewed the plans and it appears that a large "concrete pier" constructed to
anchor beams from the sidewalls of the overpass wall may be the cause of the refusal
conditions encountered during the attempted well destruction of MW-10 (see attached
plans).
AGI has consulted with the City of Stockton and determined it's unsafe to continue to
attempt over-drilling well MW-10. Drilling in the location may damage the pier used to
anchor the overpass wall and will likely continue to damage drilling equipment.
It is AGI's opinion that the well/borehole be grouted in place to the current drilling depth
of 17 feet bsg. Therefore, AGI requests a one-time variance be granted to accomplish
this and complete well destruction activities at MW-10. At the request of SJCEHD, AGI
has attached historical analytical data, which documents that contaminants of concern
have never been reported in the location of the well. AGI has also attached the referenced
plans from the City of Stockton for your review and consideration of the one-time variance
request.
The open borehole for MW-10 is currently being secured by cold patch asphalt and a
steal plate at the surface. Due to the disposition and location of the well, AGI kindly
requests an expedited review of the one-time variance.
If you have any questions, AGI and the City of Stockton could arrange for a group
conference call to further discuss the variance request.
Sincerely,
AdvancedGeo, Inc. o\P W AA4'4
4 Q C yN
m
No,8574
Daniel J.
