Used oil shall be accepted from participants in accordance with procedures outlined in <br />Section II of this variance; <br />3. The amount of used oil transported by the participants shall not exceed 55 gallons; <br />4. The applicant or its contractor will be responsible for advising participants regarding <br />proper packaging and transportation procedures prior to the collection event and for providing <br />each participant with a copy of this variance prior to transporting greater than 5 gallons of <br />hazardous waste used oil; <br />5. Hazardous waste used oil shall be prepackaged according to federal Department of <br />Transportation (DOT) regulations and shall be accompanied by appropriate shipping papers; <br />6. Participants or employees shall transport hazardous waste used oil generated by the <br />participants and only in vehicles owned by the participants; <br />7. A copy of this variance shall be carried by participants in vehicles transporting hazardous <br />waste used oil to the collection sites; <br />8. Hazardous waste used oil shall be transported in accordance with the California Vehicle <br />Code and regulations of the California Highway Patrol, Title 13, Cal. Code Regs; <br />9. An accident report regarding any hazardous waste used oil transported pursuant to this <br />variance shall be submitted to this office with 10 days of the accident by the participant <br />transporting the hazardous waste; and <br />10.
