Contractor emergency coordinators shall be on site to provide for effective <br />response in the event of a release, fire, explosion or spill. A copy of the emergency <br />response plan, and the contingency plan shall be maintained at each collection site for <br />reference during any emergency situations. <br />7. Emergency response equipment with personnel trained in the use of that <br />equipment shall be on the site at all times during the collection event. The name and <br />phone number of the emergency coordinator, alternate emergency coordinator, and the <br />location and telephone number of at least one local hospital with route map shall be <br />clearly posted at the event for immediate reference. <br />8. Ready -to -use emergency eye washes, showers, and fire extinguishers shall be <br />placed in locations that are readily available to collection personnel. <br />9. All traffic within the collection site shall be routed in a one-way direction to avoid <br />backing or turning around. <br />10. Receiving, handling, and waste storage areas (excluding vehicle traffic lane(s)) <br />shall have a continuous asphalt or concrete base for the receiving, handling and <br />storage of HHW. The continuous base shall be designed in accordance with Title 22, <br />Cal. Code Regs., section 66264.175 (b)(1) or shall be covered with contiguous plastic <br />sheeting of at least 6 mil thickness. Any torn or punctured plastic shall be immediately <br />repaired or replaced. <br />11. Waste handling areas designated for sorting, bulking and packaging shall have a <br />canopy or other roof structure, when necessary, to prevent exposure to excessive heat <br />or precipitation. <br />12. "Hazardous Waste" warning signs and "No Smoking" signs in English and any <br />other language predominant in the surrounding communities shall be placed around the <br />collection facility perimeter in accordance with Title 22, Cal. Code Regs., Division 4.5, <br />Chapter 14. <br />13. The collection sponsor shall make every attempt to assure that hazardous waste <br />be limited to 15 gallons or 125 pounds per participant per trip to the collection facility. <br />Participants in violation of these limits shall be issued verbal and/or written warnings by <br />the collection personnel. <br />14. Ah wastes shall be properly sorted to ensure compatibility of waste collected. <br />Labpacked wastes shall be kept in original containers and subsequently packaged into <br />
