The samples will be pulverized at the laboratory to prepare them for
analysis. Proposed concrete sample locations are illustrated in Figure 3.

SURFACE WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION

During the February 2020 site meeting, standing water was observed in the former used
oil storage location. A surface water sample will be collected from standing water in this
area. The sample will be collected by dipping a 1-liter amber glass sample container in
the water. The sample will be labeled with location, time, date and sampler's initials, and
then placed in a container with sufficient ice and transported under chain-of-custody
procedure to a California ELAP-certified laboratory. The proposed sample location is
illustrated in Figure 3.

SAMPLE ANALYTICAL PROCEDURES

The water sample, surface samples and soil samples collected at 3, 5, and 7 feet bsg will
be analyzed by an ELAP-certified laboratory for the following constituents:

 Percent (%) moisture in accordance with ASTM D2216-05 (solid samples only).
 PCBs (dry weight) in accordance with EPA SW-846 Method 8082A; Arochlor 1268
will be added to the list of congeners analyzed for PCBs.

Soil samples collected at 10 feet bsg will be held at the laboratory for potential PCB
analysis, if necessary. Soil samples collected at 10 feet bsg will be analyzed if PCBs are
detected in the 7-foot samples. The hold time for PCB analysis in soil samples is 14 days.

To clarify further, all surface samples and soil samples collected at 3, 5, and 7 feet bsg
will be analyzed for PCBs; the 10-foot samples will be analyzed if PCBs are detected in
the 7-foot samples. Soil samples collected at 5, 10, 15, and 20 feet bsg from the 15
borings proposed in the Revised Additional Site Assessment Work Plan will be analyzed
for TPH.

Laboratory reports for analyses, testing methods and laboratory quality assurance/quality
control (QA/QC), and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report
with findings and recommendations.
