Box 1500 <br /> French Camp, CA 95231 <br /> Re: French Camp Golf Course Water System, 3919 French Camp Road, French Camp, CA <br /> This letter is to inform you that San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)has issued an Unsafe <br /> Water Alert(UWA)Order, dated February 9, 2011, to the French Camp Golf Course Water System for having <br /> more than one sample collected during the month of January 2011,which is coliform-positive in excess of 24 Most <br /> Probable Number (MPN) colony counts. The French Camp Golf Course Water System is in violation of the <br /> California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 22, Article 3, Section 64426(a) Significant Rise in Bacteriological <br /> Count, the Total Coliform Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) 64426.1, and the Health and Safety Code, <br /> Chapter 4,Article 7 Requirements and Compliance, Section 116555 Operations Requirements,Item(a)(3),which <br /> requires the water system to "provide a reliable and adequate supply of pure, wholesome, healthful, and potable <br /> water". <br /> The UWA Order remains in effect until the EHD issues in writing a Cancellation of the UWA Order to French <br /> Camp Golf Course Water System. The French Camp Golf Course Water System owner or operator is here by <br /> directed to: <br /> 1) Notify the persons served by the water system immediately of the UWA in the following methods of a Water <br /> Quality Failure, and using the language of the attached Unsafe Water Alert Public Notification, by: <br /> Immediate notification by hand delivery of the UWA shall be given to all users of the French Camp Golf <br /> Course Water System. Repeat notice by hand shall be given every 3 months for as long as the violation or <br /> failure exists. <br /> And <br /> Immediate posting of the UWA notice in conspicuous places,within the area served by the system(i.e.the <br /> bathrooms, break room, drinking fountains, etc). Posting shall continue until directed in writing by the EHD <br /> that the UWA has been cancelled. The posting must continue for a minimum of 7 days. <br /> 2) To obtain a Cancellation of the UWA Order from EHD: <br /> a. Physically eliminate the source of bacteria from the French Camp Golf Course Water Svstem <br /> Sample the distribution system by instructing your laboratory to collect four samples at the Repeat <br /> sample sites according to the Sample Siting Plan and test for Total Coliform using enumeration test <br /> methods and report chlorine residuals of all samples on the laboratory report. The EHD will issue a <br /> Cancellation of the UWA Order, once the laboratory submits to EHD the analytical reports that <br /> indicates all samples tested absent for Total coliform bacteria, with chlorine residuals below 0.05 <br /> parts per million (ppm). <br /> b. Demonstrate to the EHD the above-mentioned physical corrections have been met. <br />
