SU-92-9 .
The District has the following comments and recommendations:
1. San Joaquin County's air quality relative to National and State
Ambient Air Quality Standards has been designated as a
non-attainment area by the California Air Resources Board as
follows:
PM-10 - Non-attainment
CO - Non-attainment (for Stockton
Metropolitan Statistical Area only)
Ozone - Non-attainment (possible SIP call area)
The California Clean Air Act, AB 2595, requires counties which are
designated non-attainment to achieve a 5% annual reduction in
emissions until the standards are met.
Based upon the District's modelling procedures, this project may
have a significant impact on air quality. As a result, the
District requests that a specific air quality analyses be required
during this environmental review process. In addition, mitigation
measures may be recommended to reduce any potential impacts to a
less than significant level. Subsequently, a mitigated negative
declaration may be necessary prior to the approval of this project.
The District has the following questions pertinent to this project:
A. The impact on air quality due to this proposed project,
B. The cumulative effect on the air quality on present and future
developments,
