He wanted to discuss <br />what it is we are requesting. <br />I forwarded the email sent to Bruce Buckenfield to Tony Feliciano at: <br />Tony.Feliciano@kuraray.com and provided HMBP information. <br />11/09/2020 Returned phone call to the complainant. Added confidential notes to the BACKUS <br />complaint file. <br />11/09/2020 Discussed complaint status with Lead Senior Garrett Backus MURO <br />11/17/2020 Added program 1921 plus four chemicals based on a letter from Tony Feliciano BACKUS <br />tony.feliciano@kuraray.com, 412-787-6794 dated 11-13-20. Used inactive <br />FA0023859. <br />Reviewed CUPA relevant operations information provided by Tony Feliciano and <br />emailed him for more details regarding hazardous waste. Also emailed Tony and <br />requested that he make a hazardous materials business plan submittal in CERS. <br />11/20/2020 Received a response to the Notice to Abate on 11-13-2020 from Tony Feliciano. I MURO <br />forwarded the email to Lead Senior Garrett Backus since I was off that week. <br />11/23/2020 Reviewed waste water analytical data from the complainant, received Nov 19, BACKUS <br />2020. Data is from 2016 and 2019 and is below hazardous waste regulatory <br />thresholds. <br />12/01/2020 Received Test America analytical lab reports and disposal records from Tony MURO <br />Feliciano. Responded to confirm receipt. Discussed with Garrett Backus. <br />12/02/2020 Received and reviewed activated carbon data from Tony Feliciano. He provided BACKUS <br />the last five transport manifests for residual water from their activated carbon <br />operations. All loads went to East Bay Municipal Utilities District facility in <br />Oakland. They previously provided analysis showing the water to be <br />non-hazardous waste. <br />Tony provided data for five client's spent carbon that is sent to an out-of-state <br />facility for regeneration. The data did not show the carbon to be hazardous <br />waste. <br />Tony provided data for five loads of spent carbon that is disposed of at Altamont <br />Landfill. The data did not show the carbon to be hazardous waste. <br />Tony stated that none of their clients in San Joaquin County generate spent <br />carbon that is hazardous waste. When they do have hazardous waste spent <br />carbon to ship they use a hazardous waste transporter. <br />Calgon Carbon did submit their business activities information to CERS on <br />11-24-20 for the hazardous materials business plan program for four reportable <br />materials. The site does not appear to need a hazardous waste generator permit <br />for the 3200 Eight Mile Rd address. <br />5105.rpt <br /> Page 2 of 4
