Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the
sender and know the content is safe.
Good morning, Garrett and Claudia. I hope you are doing well going into the holidays.
I wanted to give you a summary of an event we had at our Stockton warehouse, in light of our recent evaluation. As
described, our process requires us to periodically review characterization of our customer spent carbon. One of our
customer's spent carbon streams unexpectedly tested high for vinyl chloride. That customer spent carbon stream
approval was rescinded, and arrangements have been made to re-profile the carbon as hazardous and deal directly with
our TSDF in Kentucky.
Unfortunately, timing of the transaction made it as such that a 4000 lb load of the spent carbon in question had been
received at the warehouse, awaiting shipment to our non-hazardous reactivation facility. When the condition was
identified, we had the material segregated and identified as hazardous, and the customer made arrangements to
retrieve the spent material back to their facility, which they have done.
This is a very rare and unfortunate event, and our process allowed for us to react to it appropriately. Again, I share this
with you in light of our recent interaction through the notice to abate. Should you have any questions regarding this,
please feel free to contact me.
If I don't speak with you again, please have a Merry Christmas.
This email and attachment(s) contain proprietary and/or confidential information which is protected from
disclosure.
