Soil Suitability Study*** APN: 051-160-04 *** 5 Acres Parcel ***McLaughlin itefuse Equipment, Inc.
04/10/91. A representative of the McLaughlin Refuse Equipment, Inc. business stated
that the existing sewage system has been functioning without problems and this would
appear to be a true statement in light of the almost 32 years between applied for permits.
The permit for the property listed at 11353 East Locke Road consisted of adding a
40 feet leach line with a sump of unlisted dimensions at is end.
PERCOLATION TESTS: The five (5) acre subject property was tested and an
E.H.D. representative observed the percolation rate determination. This subject property
is shown on the attached"Site Plan". A shallow percolation rest was the only percolation
test conducted and reported on in this study. A deep percolation test was neither needed
nor required.
On July 2 and 3, 2002, I excavated the shallow Percolation and Soil Profile test
holes and the shallow percolation test hole was presoaked for conducting percolation
readings on July 8, 2002.
The details of the conducted percolation test are contained on the attached
"Percolation Details" sheet and are summarized as follows:
TEST RESULTS:
Test Hole No. Percolation Rate(Min/Inch) Minimum Usable Area(Sq. Ft.)
Shallow Test (Y Deep Max) or Type of Septic System
1 6.67 6,000 or pits
WELL WATER ANALYSIS Well water testing and analysis for Nitrate and DBCP
concentrations is the responsibility of the property owner to provide. No undue chemical
concentrations were detected, bacterial or other types, in the testing of water in the
needed and required repair work on the well on the property. The property owner has
supplied two (2) sheets showing DBCP and Nitrate test results which is just a portion of
the well water chemical concentration test results determined by the Precision Enviro-
Tech Analytical Laboratory required as a part of the repair work on the well on the
property that has been completed and approved by the Environmental Health Department.
No Dibromochloropropane(DBCP)was detected. If you have any questions or need any
additional information or details on the DBCP and Nitrate testing, contact Warren L.
Snider by phone at(209) 333-4414.
RECOMMENDATIONS A minimum usable disposal area of 6,000 square feet is
recommended for a leach field on this five (5)acre parcel. However, the property is
located in an area where historically both leach field and/or pits are permissible. The
present system in use on the property is pits.
ENGINEER'S STATEMENT Septic systems of the types proposed can be installed and
their construction is not expected to impact groundwater or cause other hazards.
Walter E.
