February 2,2006
NOA Project Number: E05058B
EHD. A percolation test with a duration of four hours was performed for each hole on Parcels 1, 2,
3 and 4.The final half-hour of each four-hour percolation test was observed by Mr. David Van
Dyne and Mr. Ted Tasiopoulos, both Registered Environmental Health Inspectors,EHD. A
percolation test with a duration of one hour was performed for each hole on Parcels 5, 6, 7 and 8 in
accordance with the requirements of the EHD. The entirety of each one hour test was observed by
Mr. David Van Dyne,Registered Environmental Health Inspector, EHD.
Measurement of the water level during the percolation test was from a fixed reference point on the
PVC casing using an electric well-g--q with an depth accuracy of 1/100th foot. All tabulated
values on the field data shee (appendix) #e in decimal feet. After water drop was observed, the
holes were checked for refill. The refillrlevel was approximately 0.5 ft (6 inches) of water above the
bottom level of the percolation tes -ole. The readings were taken approximately every 30 minutes
for a period of four hours for the four hour test and readings were taken every ten minutes for the
one hour test.
6.6 Percolation Test Forms and Results
The completed percolation test forms are included in the appendix of this report.
A shallow percolation test is defined by the EHD as being between 36 and 42 inches in depth;a
satisfactory percolation rate for a shallow test is less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch drop.
Details of the percolation tests are summarized in Table 4.
Table 4.
Summary of Percolation Tests.
Test No., Percolation Percolation Rate Test Comment
Date Tested Test Depth(ft) (minutes/inch) Duration (see notes)
Parcel 1 3.07 5.81 4 hour Satisfactory Percolation Rate
Parcel 2 3.19 7.14 4 hour Satisfactory Percolation Rate
Parcel 3 3.12 4.8 4 hour Satisfactory Percolation Rate
Parcel 4 3.06 15.63 4 hour Satisfactory Percolation Rate
Parcel 5 3.0 1.85 1 hour Satisfactory Percolation Rate
Parcel 6 3.12 2.14 1 hour Satisfactory Percolation Rate
Parcel 7 3.03 1.24 1 hour Satisfactory Percolation Rate
Parcel 8 3.11 2.69 1 hour i Satisfacto Percolation Rate
Note: A satisfactory percolation rate for a"shallow'test is less than or equal to 60 minutes per inch.
8 "44
