Examine areas to receive septic system to verify complete <br /> excavation to elevations and slopes indicated. <br /> B. Filtering Material : Place supporting layer of filtering <br /> material over compacted trench base to compacted depth as <br /> indicated or, if not indicated, to a compacted depth not <br /> less than 12" below bottom of pipe. <br /> C. Laying Drain Pipe: Lay drain pipe solidly bedded in <br /> filtering material . Provide ful <br /> throughout l bearing for each pipe <br /> section ghout its length, to true grades and <br /> alignment, and continuous slope in direction of flow. <br /> D. Lay perforated pipe with perforations down and joints <br /> tightly closed in accordance with pipe manufacturer ' s <br /> recommendations. Provide collard and <br /> required. couplings as <br /> E. After drain lines have been installed, place additional <br /> filtering material around sides and top to compacted depth <br /> as indicated or, if not indicated, to a compacted depth of <br /> a minimum of 2" above top of pipe. <br /> F. Testing Drain Lines : Test or check lines before <br /> backfilling to assure free flow and obtain inspection and <br /> approval from San Joaquin Local Health District. Remove <br /> obstructions, replace damaged components, and retest <br /> system until satisfactory. <br /> G. Filter Mat:' - Prior to backfilling, place 15# tarpaper over <br /> filter materials. <br /> H. Backfill : Immediately backfill trench with excavated <br /> soil , mounding but not compacting soil above original <br /> grade.
