All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: Free chlorine was observed at 0 ppm. Adjust to 3 ppm to 10 ppm. Close spa until the corrections are <br />made and verified by this department. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br />the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br />or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br />chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #12 pH Level MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: pH is above 8. Adjust to 7.2 to 7.8. Close spa until the corrections are made and verified by this <br />department. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) <br /> #25 Spa Emergency Shut Off Switch MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: Power to the spa was off. Unable to verify if emergency shut-off switch is functional. Close spa until the <br />corrections are made and verified by this department. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: A clearly labeled emergency shut off switch for both the spa recirculation and jet/aeration systems shall be <br />installed adjacent to the spa pool. (CBC 3138B) <br /> #37 Electrical Hazards MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The ground fault circuit interrupter (GFI) was not functioning when tested. Power appeared to be off to <br />the lights. Repair GFI so that it is in good working order today. Close spa area until the corrections are made and verified <br />by this department. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Electrical equipment installed in the water, walls, deck, or equipment room of a public pool shall comply with <br />California Electrical Code. (CEC 680.4) Light fixtures installed in the pool that operate at more than 15 volts shall be protected by a ground <br />fault circuit interrupter.
