Upgrades to the MicroSepTec EnviroServers are listed below. Specific part numbers have not been
included until the tanks are pumped, cleaned and the specified components removed so that accurate
replacements can be obtained:
Pumping the three tanks and inspecting for water tightness, structural integrity and sealed baffles.
Install Polylok effluent filters in fourth chamber of each tank.
Install new regenerative blowers with six new commercial diffuser connections.
Install new mechanical recirculation pumps in each module.
Install a new control panel to time-dose the three recirculation pumps.
Reconstruction of the new leachfield will consist of excavating the native soil to approximately nine
ft deep; a total of -1,275 cy. The spoils will be transported to nearby farmland and used to increase
the silt/clay content of the arable onsite soils, and thus increasing soil fertility potential. The
excavation will be backfilled with engineered fill with the following characteristics:
A well-graded backfill material meeting grade size distribution curve characteristics is essential.
Engineered fill has been located from Teichert Aggregates in Vernalis, CA. A Particle Size
Distribution Report on this material from Terracon Consultants and Teichert's Material Evaluation
Sheet are found in Appendix I. Particle sizes D10 , D30, D60 have been used for the curve analysis. The
Uniformity Coefficient (Cu) and the Coefficient of Curvature (Cc) classify the material as well-graded
or poorly-graded. A Cu value of between 3.9 and 6 classifies the material as well-graded.
Additionally, for the material to also be well-graded, the value of Cc should range between 1 and 3.
A critical nature is the percent passing the #200 sieve. This must be less than 3%. The lower the
percentage, the more favorable the material.
The native soil will be used for soil cap material; however, the depth of cap material over the EZ
Flow modules is unknown at this time. The cap should slope to allow heavy rainfall to drain into the
adjacent storm drain. Native vegetation should grow over the leachfield soil surface. Two
observation Tubes will be installed in the southeast and northwest corners of the excavated leachfield,
as illustrated on the Design Plans.
The existing high-head pumps in the final chambers of the three EnviroServers will each supply the
new engineered leachfield with pressurized effluent, as illustrated on the Design Plans. Perforated
1.25" laterals with 1/8" diameter orifices every 5' will be installed within the 4" perforated pipe of the
Infiltrator EZ Flow modules. As the laterals pressurize, effluent will flow through the 4" perforated
pipe to create relative equal distribution. Blank modules will be installed side-by-side against the
perforated pipe modules, as illustrated in Appendix H, and secured together with strapping.
Page -4-
Chesney Consulting
