Thornton Rd, Thornton
APN 001-150-48, SR0083931
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed the Soil Suitability/Nitrate
Loading (SSNL) Study, dated June 23, 2021 and has the following comments for your consideration.
The SSNL was prepared to determine the suitability of the above noted parcel for onsite wastewater treatment
system (OWTS) usage and the potential long-term impact of nitrate to groundwater.
Based on the information provided, the EHD can make the following findings:
1. The Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study supports the suitability for standard OWTS usage for the
proposed development project on the above-mentioned parcel, pursuant to San Joaquin County
Ordinance Code Title 9, Section 9-1105.2(d).
2. Percolation test conducted on June 21, 2021 yield percolation rate of 6.25 minutes/inch. At this rate,
an eight-foot soil separation shall be required between bottom of dispersal field and groundwater.
Groundwater at the site fluctuate from 8.6 to 16.5 feet below ground surface San Joaquin County
Onsite Wastewater Treatment Standard table 1.10.2.
3. Prior to issuance of building permit, open, pump and backfill the septic tank permit number (2223)
under permit and inspection by the Environmental Health Department (San Joaquin County
Development Title, Section 9-1110.3 & 9-1110.4).
4. According to permit (90-2884), there are three monitoring wells at the site. The septic system shall be
at least 100 feet from any wells including monitoring wells.
If you have any questions please contact Naseem Ahmed, Senior Registered Environmental Health
Specialist, at nahmed@sjgov.org or (209) 616-3018.
Otevenih, RENS
Program Coordinator
c: LiveOak
1868 E.
