Soil Suitability! Nitrate Loading Study Irerracon
ALL STAR HEAVY HAUL & TOWING INCORPORATED Tracy, California
July 1, 2022 Terracon Project No. NA217024
1.4.4 Groundwater Sample Analysis
Groundwater samples were collected into a clean unpreserved plastic 125 milliliter (ml) bottle and
analyzed for nitrate as N by EPA Extraction Method E300.1. An additional groundwater sample
was collected into two clean glass 40 ml VOAs preserved with ascorbic and maleic acid and
analyzed for DBCP (1,2-Dibromo-3-chloropropane) by EPA Extraction Method E524.3.
1.4.5 Groundwater Sample Handling
The groundwater samples were immediately placed on ice and submitted to McCar7ipbel►
Analytical Inc. for analysis. Nitrate as N was reported below laboratory reporting limits of 0.20
milligrams per liter (mg/L) in the groundwater samples GW -1, below the Maximum Contaminant
Level (MCL) of 10 mg/L-N. DBCP was reported below laboratory reporting limits of 0.010
micrograms per liter (Ng/L) in the groundwater samples GW -1, below the MCL of 0.2 pg/L.
1.5 Soil Profile and Geologic Information
The site is depicted on the Geologic Map of California website., as within generalized quaternary
Pleistocene and Holocene deposits which are comprised primarily of unconsolidated and semi -
consolidated alluvium, lake, playa, and terrace deposits.
Terracon reviewed the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources
Conservation Service (NRCS) 1A/Ah Sail Survev and USDA Soil Survey of San Joaquin County
(1992) for information regarding soil properties. Based on information obtained from the USDA
sources, site soils consist of the following seven soil types.
113 — Calla Clay loam, 2 to 8 percent slopes.
114 — Calia-Carbona complex, 8 to 30 percent slopes.
116 — Calla-Pleito comples, 8 to 30 percent slopes.
118 — Capay clay, 0 to 1 percent slopes, MLRA 17.
119 — Capay clay, 1 to 6 percent slopes, MLRA 17.
123 — Carbona clay loam, 2 to 8 percent slopes.
252 — Stomar clay loam, 0 to 2 percent slopes
Terracon included the below descriptions for Capay clay soil types as the proposed septic
system(s) will be located in these soil types. Refer to the USDA NRCS Custom Soil Resource
Report (Appendix D) and the JSDA Soil Survey of San Joaguin County for additional information
regarding the remaining soil types associated with the site.
Responsive ■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 10
