Soil Suitability / Nitrate Loading Study
ALL STAR HEAVY HAUL & TOWING INCORPORATED Tracy, California
July 1. 2022 Terracon Project No. NA217024
2.1 Chemical and Physical Properties of Soil
2.1.1 Chemical and Physical Soil Properties
Irerracon
Terracon reviewed the USDA NRCS /'deb Soil Surve,, and USDA Soil Survey of San Joaquin
County (1992) for information regarding Capay clay (Section 1.5). Selected physical and
chemical properties for the soil types are listed in the following table.
Table 8.
Physical and Chemical Properties*
Soil Name
Soil
Septic tank
Depth
USDA
Unified Soil
Clay
Permeability
Salinity
/ Map
reaction
absorption
(in)
Texture
Classification
M
(in/hour)
(mmhos/cm)
Symbol
(pH)
fields
Capay
0-20
Clay
CH,CL
40-60
0.06-0.2
6.6-8.4
<2
Clay, Silty
Severe; poor
Clay (118)
20-60
CL,CH
40-60
-0.
0.062
6.6-8.4
<2
filter
Cla Y
"U.S. uepartment of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service, 1992, Sou Survey of San .loaquin County, ualitornia.
Selected USDA physical and chemical properties
millimhos per centimeter (mmhos/cm)
2.1.2 Mass Transport Soil Properties
The longer the effluent remains near the surface, the more treatment is enhanced due to natural
processes within the soil. The percolation test has revealed that the onsite soils have adequate
percolation rate at 3.32 and 9.00 feet and slow percolation rates at 23.4 feet bgs. Refer to Sections
1.6.6 and 1.6.7 for additional discussion.
2.2 Groundwater Analysis
2.2 1 Regional Groundwater
A discussion of regional groundwater, including depth to groundwater and seasonal trends are
included in Section 1.4.1.
2.2.2 Potential Ground Water Contamination Issues
A discussion of issues related to potential groundwater contamination is included in Section 1.4.2.
2.2.3 Current and Future On -Site Ground Water Uses
The facility is proposed to be connected to a new septic tank
Responsive ■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 15
