General Order#089-164 <br /> O. Inmate Deaths <br /> 1. All inmate deaths occurring within the Manteca City Jail shall be fully investigated <br /> pursuant to the San Joaquin County Officer Involved Critical Incident Protocol. <br /> 2. A post mortem examination will be conducted in any inmate death within the <br /> Manteca City Jail. <br /> 3. A review of all inmate deaths shall be conducted by the Commander of the Services <br /> Division. <br /> P. Suicide Prevention Program <br /> 1. All inmates at the time of booking shall be screened to identify those inmates who <br /> present a suicide risk. <br /> 2. This is accomplished by completing the standard arrest/booking sheet and observing <br /> the inmate while you are booking him or her. <br /> 3. If, in the opinion of the Booking Officer,the inmate is a suicide risk,that inmate <br /> shall be transported to the San Joaquin County Jail as soon as is reasonably practical. <br /> 4. Pending transportation, the inmate should be kept under frequent observation in cell <br /> number"1". <br /> 5. San Joaquin County Jail personnel will be notified upon the booking of any inmate <br /> who is a suicide risk. The name of the person notified shall be noted on the hard copy of <br /> the Manteca PD arrest/booking form. <br /> Q. First Aid Kit <br /> 1. A fully stocked first aid kit is kept in the cabinets located in the Booking Room. <br /> 2. The Property/Evidence Officer shall be responsible for ensuring the first aid kit is <br /> properly stocked. <br /> R. Food/Frequency of Serving <br /> 1. Food shall be served three (3)times in any 24-hour period. <br /> 2. At least two (2) of the meals in a 24-hour period shall include hot food. <br /> 3. If more than 14 hours passes between these meals, supplemental food must be <br /> served. Additionally, supplemental food must be served in less than the 14-hour period <br /> for inmates on medical diets requiring more than three (3) meals. <br /> 4. A minimum of 15 minutes shall be allowed for the actual consumption of each meal <br /> except those inmates on a medical diet where more time is required. Any food that is <br /> not consumed within 60 minutes of purchase shall be discarded. <br /> 5. Breakfast shall be served at, or as close as is reasonably practical to 0700. Breakfast <br /> shall consist of. a hot breakfast sandwich with egg, meat and cheese and orange juice <br /> purchased from a permitted food facility(such as Carl's Jr). <br /> 6. Lunch shall be served at, or as close as is reasonably practical to 1200 hours. Lunch <br /> shall consist of a hamburger with lettuce and tomato and a small order of French fries, <br /> purchased from a permitted food facility(such as Carl's Jr). <br /> 5. <br />
