12958/12970 E Jahant Road Project No. 2022-00037 P a g e 110
8.0 PERCOLATION TEST INFORMATION
A site map indicating the location of the two percolation test hole locations for the parcel is included
as Plate 2 in Appendix A of this report.
At 12958/12970 E Jahant Road, one shallow percolation test was placed approximately 150 feet
south of the northwestern parcel boundary and 25 feet east of the western parcel boundary. One
deep percolation test was placed 155 feet south of the northwestern parcel boundary and 30 feet
east of the western parcel boundary. The shallow soil boring and deep soil boring were both
advanced on the property with a 12 -inch drill rig auger. Both the shallow and deep percolation test
holes had 2.0 -inch diameter PVC pipe with perforations on the bottom installed to measure the drop
of water in the percolation test boring. Approximately two (2) inches of "pea gravel" was placed in
the bottom of each of the open soil borings and then the PVC pipe was installed on top of the gravel.
"Pea gravel" was then used to backfill in the annular space. Pre -saturation of the percolation test
holes occurred approximately 24 hours prior to the day of testing. The depth of water used to pre-
soak the shallow test holes was 12 inches above the bottom of each shallow boring. The depth of
water used to pre-soak the deep test holes was approximately 6 inches above the selected stratum.
After the 24-hour soak period, the pre -saturated hole was found to be intact and dry on the day of
testing. The final percolation rates were determined based on the EHD Percolation Test Procedure
form 42-01-002, revised 8-23-2011, based on if water or no water remains in the test hole overnight,
and supervised under Francisco Ruiz on June 15, 2022 at the time of the percolation test inspection.
8.1 Soil Boring Logs
One twelve -inch diameter shallow soil boring was advanced on the site down to thirty-nine (39)
inches. The shallow soil boring location was recorded using handheld sub meter Trimble GeoXH GPS
device (38°12'11.88", -121°9'28.17"). One twelve -inch diameter deep soil boring was advanced to
one -hundred forty-seven (147) inches. The deep soil boring location was recorded using handheld
sub meter Trimble GeoXH GPS device (38°12'15.23", -121°9'30.90"). The location of the test borings
are indicated in Appendix A, Plate 2. Generally, the soil encountered in the boring was similar to the
soils reported by the San Joaquin County Soil Survey for the area (USDA, 1992). The table below
presents the soil log for the percolation test location.
Table 6.
Soil Boring Log
Depth Interval (inches) Soil Type Unified Soil Classification
12958/12970 E Jahant Road
0-24
Brown, dry, clay
CL
24-42
Brown, dry, hardpan
CL
42-100
Brown, dry, clay
CL.
100-140
Light brown, dry, sandy loam,
sandy clay
SC
140-147
Light brown, dry, sandy loam
SC
Petralogix Engineering, Inc.
26675 Bruella Road, Galt, Ca 95632
(209)-400-5729
wvvw.petralogix.corn
