THE FOLLOWING POINTS ARE IMPORTANT FOR GOOk
MAINTENANCE OF CONTROLS AND THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR
PROPER FUNCTIONING OF THIS EQUIPMENT SHOULD BE AWARE
OF THESE BASIC PRACTICES.
1. Do everything possible for safety.
2. A systematic program of inspection and maintenance work should be used.
3. Initial installation should be tested and proved satisfactory before it is accepted.
4. An adequate supply of correct renewal/replacement parts should be available,
5. Enclosures should be chosen for the operating conditions.
6. Keep controllers clean and dry,
7. Replace contacts that are worn very thin or badly burned and pitted. Replace all
contacts and associate parts on switch at same time.
8. Do not change contact shape by rough filing or grinding.
9. Keep all connections tight.
10. Do not oil contactor or relay bearings but keep these units clean and free
moving.
11. Operate coils at rated voltage. Both over -voltage and under -voltage conditions
are undesirable.
12. Keep arc -rupturing parts in good condition and in correct operating positions.
13. Correct conditions that cause excessive temperatures.
14. Be alert for undesirable grounds on all circuits and eliminate them.
