CUPA Inspection Report
Home Depot Store#1022
4. Designated facility signed and dated copies of Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifests (UHWM)
were not found on-site.
RESPONSE: The Home Depot's hazardous waste vendor uploads the store's final manifests to an
online portal. The portal is accessible to Store#1022 through The Home Depot's intranet system. Portal
access has been reviewed with store management to ensure onsite accessibility of manifests during
future inspections.
5. The following equipment observed on-site needs repair or replacement: 1. A fire extinguisher
behind the store near the diesel tank and forklift propane bottles needs to be recharged or
replaced. 2. A plumbed eyewash station in the tool rental center had too high water pressure
when tested. The water stream hit the ceiling. 3. An eyewash bottle, in a first aid kit, near the
forklift battery recharge area, was expired with a date of December 2021.
RESPONSE: The store has addressed the three items above. Photographs of the replaced fire
extinguisher and eyewash bottles are enclosed for your review. A copy of the vendor invoice to show
the plumbed eyewash station has been repaired is also enclosed.
6. The following open hazardous waste storage containers were observed on-site: 1. Used oil
container in the tool rental center. 2. Waste fuel container in the tool rental center.
RESPONSE: The Home Depot's Handling Hazardous Materials and Waste (HHM) Program requires
the store to ensure the used oil drum and gasoline caddy are kept closed. Photographs showing the
closed containers are enclosed for your review.
7. Disposal records for treated wood waste were not available for review during the inspection.
RESPONSE: The shipping documents for treated wood waste are accessible to the store through the
same online portal as the store's manifests (see Item 4). A copy of the most recent shipping document
is enclosed for your review.
8. The site map is incomplete and not consistent with observations during the inspection: 1. The
site map does not include loading and unloading areas for the reportable hazardous materials
on the HMBP which are the diesel fuel tank, lead acid batteries, LPG bottles (in front and behind
the store), treated wood waste container behind the store, and hazardous waste storage (HWS)
in the receiving area. 2. The site map does not include the location of the treated wood waste
container behind the store outside the wood product area. 3. The HWS in the tool rental center is
located in the incorrect location on the site map. A plumbed eyewash station in the tool rental
center is not included on the site map. These items are both in the south part of the tool rental
center near the spill kit(SK) and the first aid kit.4. A plumbed eye wash station in the forklift
battery recharging area is not included on the site map.
RESPONSE: The store's site map has been updated through CERS. A copy of the updated HMBP is
enclosed for your review.
