Box 6336
Stockton, CA 95206
FORWARD LANDFILL, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY (CASE NO. 2209)
We have reviewed the technical report from Woodward -Clyde Consultants (WCC) for the
closure of the portion of the land treatment unit (WMU-G) currently used for treatment of
the Oakland Federal Building soil. Based on our discussion 12 December 1990 with
WCC's contract lab, Eureka Laboratories, we understand that the detection limits for
samples of native soil are 5 ppm for TPH gasoline and 10 ppm for TPH diesel. We find
the sampling protocol and analytical methods are acceptable.
Now that the rainy season has finally come to the valley, precipitation and drainage
controls, as required by the facility's waste discharge requirements, must be in place.
Please keep us informed of your progress with the treatment of this soil. If you have any
questions, please call Steve Rosenbaum at (916) 361-5732.
WILLIAM4.
