5
n
rA
E
10
11
Identified Contamination Source Evaluation
Agricultural chemicals are stored
within metal storage containers on
the Site. Two plastic tanks of
glyphosate and a mobile spray tank
were observed nearby. Used
chemical containers are stored
within a fenced area. (Current on-
site)
Mechanical repair to equipment is
occasionally performed on the Site.
(Current on-site)
Several used tires and a mattress
were observed on the Site.
(Current on-site)
Five pole -mounted transformers
were observed on the Site. Two of
the transformers were marked with
blue stickers indicating they are
free of polychlorinated biphenyls.
(Current on-site)
According to permit records, one to
four ground -water monitoring wells
were drilled and abandoned on the
Site in 1988 as part of a larger
investigation of the Santos Ranch
area. (Past on-site)
Three listed facilities were identified
within one-quarter mile of the Site.
Two of these are related to former
crude oil pipelines running along
Byron Road to the east of the Site.
(Current and past off-site)
According to the map reviewed,
some wells within one mile of the
Site have exhibited levels of nitrate
over the MCL of 10 mg/L-N.
(Current off-site)
The San Joaquin County
Agricultural Commissioner's office
and Environmental Health
Department provide regulatory
oversight for agricultural chemical
application and storage.
No evidence of staining was
observed.
It is anticipated that these items will
be appropriately disposed as part of
routine upkeep of the Site.
The utility provider may have
additional information about PCB
content of the transformers.
No further information regarding the
well(s) was encountered. No
evidence was encountered to
indicate whether the well(s) were
used for environmental monitoring
or depth -to -water monitoring.
Based on the records reviewed, no
evidence was identified of impacts
to the subject Site from these
facilities.
The domestic well on the Site will be
tested for nitrate as part of the Soil
Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study to
follow this report.
LOGE 2214 10
