12
13
Identified Contamination Source Evaluation
A plugged, dry hole natural gas
well was identified approximately
1,000 feet northeast of the Site.
(Past off-site)
Two pipelines were identified within
one-quarter mile of the Site. An
active natural gas transmission line
runs along Von Sosten Road on
the southern property line of the
Site. An active hazardous liquid
pipeline runs along Byron Road
approximately one-quarter mile
from the Site.
9.0 RECOMMENDATONS
Hazardous materials may be
associated with the drilling of natural
gas wells. Regulatory oversight for
these activities is provided by the
California Geologic Energy
Management Division.
The Pipeline and Hazardous
Materials Safety Administration
provides regulatory oversight for
these pipelines. Contamination
related to hazardous liquid pipelines
is not uncommon and already exists
to the east and northeast of the Site
from the former crude oil pipelines
(as discussed in item 10, above).
This report should be seen as a screening tool to identify areas where hazardous
substances may be present on the Site. As part of the land use application
process, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department may
recommend that certain actions be taken in response to conditions identified.
Additionally, any conditions out of compliance with local, State, or Federal
regulations should be brought into compliance; it is outside the scope of work of
the Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report to identify these conditions.
10.0 CONCLUSIONS
This SSCR was prepared for the subject Site, 15550 West Grant Line Road,
Tracy, California, to identify evidence of any on- or off-site, current or past,
sources of contamination. Several potential sources of contamination, most
typical of similar properties in the area, have been identified and discussed in
Section 8.0. The San Joaquin County Environmental Heath Department will
review this report and notify the property owner if that agency recommends any
actions to be taken prior to parcel division.
LOGE 2214 11
