8.0 IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
The following sources of past, current, on-site, and off-site contamination have
been identified as a result of this investigation:
1
2
3
0
5
Identified Contamination Source Evaluation
The Site has been used for
agriculture since 1937 or earlier;
orchard has been present since the
early 1970s. A variety of
agricultural chemicals have been
applied to the Site since 2018, as
reported by the San Joaquin
County Agricultural
Commissioner's office. (Current
and past on-site)
The surrounding properties to the
north, east, and west are used for
agriculture. (Current off-site)
The house on the Site dates to
1937 or earlier, while the shop
appears to date to 1952 or earlier.
Three structures of similar ages
were removed from the Site around
2014. (Current and past on-site)
A domestic well and a septic
system are located on the Site.
The 1976 permit mentioned an old
30 -foot deep well to be destroyed.
(Current and past on-site)
A few plastic buckets and
containers, most empty, were
observed south of the shop.
(Current on-site)
As with any agricultural property,
agricultural chemical residues may
be present in Site soils from
previous applications. The typical
standard of care for SSCRs does
not require further investigation of
agricultural use.
Agricultural chemicals will continue
to be applied to these properties.
For any structure or former structure
dating from the 1980s or earlier, the
assumption is made that lead -
containing materials and/or
pesticide residues may be present
in the vicinity of the structure. It is
also possible that underground
infrastructure may remain in the
area. The typical standard of care
for SSCRs does not require any
further investigation of former
structures.
The existing well and septic system
appear to be in use. No further
information about the old well was
identified.
The property owner indicated that
he will properly store or dispose of
the containers.
LOGE 2216 7
