09 November 2021
Project No. 21-6640

sampling of the proposed soil-vapor sampling wells are provided in Section 3.1.2. The
proposed boring locations are illustrated in Figure 1.

2.5. REPORT PREPARATION

Upon completion of initial field work and receipt of final laboratory analysis, a report will
be prepared presenting findings of the investigation. The report will be reviewed and
signed by a California Professional Geologist.

3.0. FIELD PROCEDURES

All field procedures will be overseen by an AGI representative working under the
supervision of a California Professional Geologist. Procedures for advancing soil borings,
collection and analysis of soil samples, collection and analysis of a soil-vapor sample and
equipment decontamination and sample handling are presented below.

3.1. SOIL PROBE BORING ADVANCEMENT

Proposed borings for soil sample collection will be advanced to depths of approximately
15 feet bsg using a hand auger and a truck-mounted Geoprobe 5400 direct-push probing
unit or equivalent equipped with 1.25-inch probing rods. The probing unit advances soil
probe borings using a hydraulic hammer to drive soil sampling tools to specified depths.

3.1.1. Soil Sampling

Soil samples will be collected from the probe borings at discrete five-foot intervals
beginning at five feet bsg using a 1.45-inch Geoprobe soil sampling assembly loaded with
a two-foot acetate liner. Upon sample retrieval, a selected portion of the liner will be cut
and covered with Teflon sheets, capped, and sealed with tape. The initial five-foot sample
in all boring locations will be hand packed into a 2-inch by 3-inch stainless steel liner,
which will be covered with Teflon sheets, capped, and sealed with tape.

Appropriately sealed and labeled samples will be placed in a chilled container under ice
and transported under chain-of-custody procedure to an ELAP-certified laboratory.
Samples will be analyzed for the constituents listed in Section 2.3. Each sample will be
labeled with boring designation, depth, time, date, and sampler's initials. Soils
encountered in the borings will be visually classified by AGI personnel in accordance with
the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS). Additionally, soil samples will be field-
screened for presence of volatile organic compounds using an organic vapor meter
(OVM), equipped with photo-ionization detector (PID) pre-calibrated to isobutylene.
