Per
Colton Rogers, a weed raking machine leaked 15 gallons of hydraulic oil into the
water and 20 gallons of hydraulic oil onto a containment basin.
Called Fish and Wildlife and updated them on the spill report.
Arrived on site and met with Colton and Bryan. Hydraulic oil was observed on the
containment basin, in the containment basin, and in the nearby waterway.
Hydraulic oil also released in front of the containment basin onto asphalt. A
telescopic boom was placed inside the leaking oil line, a boom was placed on the
water, and absorbent pads were placed on the containment basin to prevent
further contamination.
The facility hired Environmental Logistics to clean the hydraulic oil that spilled onto
land. Contra Costa Water District was going to get a boat to cleanup the water.
Received a photo from Bryan showing the label of the oil that was released.
Wrote a notice to abate to Colton asking for the business to clean all contaminated
areas and submit the final disposal records to the EHD. The report was emailed
to Colton at <crogers@ccwatercom>. Confirmed that he received it.
Received a call from Warden Schutz asking for an update. He did not have any
concern with the material that spilled.
Sent an update email to Robert McClellan notifying him of the update.
08/20/2021 7:00pm-Received page from SJGH (209-468-6000).
