M <br /> Medical Waste Management Plan <br /> Kaiser Permanente —Manteca Hospital <br /> longer than seven days, and will be labeled with the words "sharps waste" or with the <br /> international biohazard symbol and the word "BIOHAZAD". <br /> Pharmaceutical wastes are segregated, contained and labeled in the following manner: <br /> pharmaceutical will be segregated at the point of origin and placed into a secondary <br /> container labeled "INCINERATION ONLY" on the lid and sides, so as to be visible <br /> from any lateral direction, to ensure treatment of the biohazardous waste pursuant to <br /> Section 11822 of the medical waste management act. <br /> Surgical waste will be disposed of in accordance with all applicable sections of the <br /> medical waste management act. <br /> (b) Storage area description with storage methods utilized, including duration and <br /> temperature, if applicable. <br /> The facility maintains a secured area for storage of biohazardous waste pending <br /> disposal. The storage area is marked with warnings that read in English and Spanish" <br /> Caution biohazardous Waste Storage Area—Unauthorized Persons Keep Out". These <br /> signs are legible from a distance of at least 25 feet. Biohazardous waste shall not be <br /> stored on-site for more than seven days before disposal. <br /> (c) Onsite treatment facility description, including type of treatment utilized <br /> maximum capacity, time and temperature necessary, alternate contingency plan <br /> in case of equipment failure. <br /> Kaiser Foundation Hospital Manteca does not perform any onsite treatment of <br /> medical waste. <br /> The alternate medical waste hauler is: <br /> Ramos Environmental Services, Reg.
