Employee and/or manager must inspect premises daily and look for sources of breeding (such as
stagnant water, wet debriS, manure...)
ManagO-s are to schedule transportation for manure in a timely manner
Manureihandling equipment is to be cleaned each week
Spraying and/or trapping must be done as needed to keep fly counts down
Dead ar4mals must be put in the freezer Immediately
Sufficient materials & equipment must be kept on hand to effectively perform these tasks
Manages are to train the workers about fly prevention and insist on effective performance
Sanitation:
After each flock (10 to 13 weeks) each building will be totally cleaned out, meaning that once manure
has been removbd from the building, the inside of the barns will be washed down and then sanitized.
Water from wash down will be drained out at the south end of the building. Water will then be diverted
into a holding tank to later be pumped out and either sprayed on the land in times of clement weather
or removed froriil the site when the weather will not allow for sprayed water to dry out.
If this Manure Management & Fly Prevention Program Is Ineffective:
3
In the event theifacility managers have made every reasonable effort to follow the Intent of this
program but still find the problem of excessive fly breeding and large fly populations persist, the
problem must t+ brought to the attention of Company management for more intense planning or
referral to outside resources to resolve the problems.
Revised 10)24/16
