Disposal: <br />Pharmaceutical waste will be picked up and hauled off for incineration by a contracted, licensed, <br />registered waste hauler. <br />a. The waste hauler will comply with all applicable Federal, state, and local regulations. <br />b. The waste hauler will pickup pharmaceutical waste as needed, twice a week. <br />c. The waste hauler will supply the facility with tracking documents that keep the facility informed of the <br />poundage on a monthly basis. All records will be maintained for a minimum of three (3) years. <br />(These are kept on file in the Plant Operations Dept.) <br />Procedures: <br />The following procedure will be used for cleaning up spilled pharmaceutical waste. <br />a. Do not reuse a defective, damaged, or broken pharmaceutical waste container; replace it with a new <br />container. <br />b. Spills from pharmaceutical waste, containers will be cleaned up promptly. <br />c. Gloves and other appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be worn.d 'ring clean up. If <br />splashing is anticipated, protective face shield will be worn ;in addition to impervious gown o_ r apron and <br />fluid resistant boots. <br />d. Hand.washing will be performed after completion of clean up. <br />e.
