The registered waste transporter will supply the facility with shipping papers (manifests) that keep the <br />facility informed of the poundage on a monthly basis. All records will be maintained on-site for at <br />least 3 years. Reference 46 CFR 172. Subpart C Sect. 172.201(e) for further information. <br />7. Treatment/Disposal: <br />a. Treatment of Waste: <br />I. Biohazardous, red bag and sharps waste will be hauled off site at least every seven days if <br />greater than 20 lbs. per month and at least every thirty days if less than 20 lbs. <br />A. 1. a. I. Pathology, trace antineoplastic (chemotherapy) and pharmaceutical waste shall be placed <br />into the approved containers and hauled off site for incineration by the registered <br />hazardous waste transporter. <br />ii. RCRA waste will be segregated, packed and shipped as RCRA hazardous waste. <br />iii. Hazardous waste will be segregated, packed and shipped as hazardous waste. <br />iv. Container types and storage requirements can be found in Appendix D-1 and D-2. <br />2. Emergency Plans: <br />a. The Program Administrator has the authority to implement this Emergency Plan in the event of <br />improper disposal of hazardous or medical waste. <br />b. In the event of a disaster which affects the integrity of the medical/biohazardous waste storage <br />area, and alternative storage area will be selected until the integrity of the primary storage area <br />and operations are restored. <br />c. In the event the primary registered waste transporter can no longer provide waste pick-up and <br />hauling services, VMF will use an alternate transporter. The emergency transporter is: <br />i.
